When you think of bluegrass music, what comes to mind? Is it the stringed instruments of banjos and mandolins played by old men in a juke joint? Is it the music that defines the rolling hills and mountains of Kentucky and Virginia? Is it the outdated type of music that influenced the beginnings of country […]
I was actually lucky enough to have two concerts to photograph on Saturday. After sneaking out after the first DBT set at the Gothic, I hopped on a bus and rode up to LoDo. Glad I did, as the Larimer was packed and absolutely rocking.
If you’re not familiar with the Devil Makes Three, they’re California natives that have been pounding the pavement since 2002. They’re an amazing combination of folk, rock, alternative with some bluegrass and country mashed in. Their newest album is titled “Redemption & Ruin” and was released in 2016. They were in Denver on a two […]
The Old Smugglers – Hard Pan to Chaos They look like gangsters from the 1940’s, they sing about the salty sea, they play instruments that look like they were scavenged from a shipwreck, and on November 10th, 2017, The Old Smugglers revealed their 3rd album “Hard Pan to Chaos”. The Old Smuggler’s are […]
Co-founder of the site, Tanner Morris is currently on tour with this crew helping set up and tune instruments all across the country. When they made their stop in Denver, Tanner was able to set us up with access on this absolutely awesome lineup. Here are some photos:

A long but fun weekend photographing and camping in Telluride, CO. Which is quite possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth. Parking is an absolute disaster, but that’s what happens when 10k cars ascend on a town the size and shape of Telluride. Trying to convince the Wife that we need to go […]
Here are some photos from the Elephant Revival, Josh Ritter show at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO.
Harriet Brewing’s 4th Annual Extravaganza on Saturday was an inevitable success at the Cedar this past Saturday. Starting the night out with The Last Revel, a punky-folk-rock trio had the near capacity crowd dancing while drinking, which can be a dangerous feat. Their music covered the bases of my musical tastes pretty well, though my […]
What’s not to love about a show at First Avenue on a kick ass day in Minneapolis? Last week American Aquarium set the bar for Justin Townes Earle to leap right the hell over. Those of you not familiar with Justin Townes Earle, well – should be. His father, Steve Earle is also one of […]
